Ps and Qs

First a sketch, then a bit of explanation (and a youtube video)

One of the things I always struggle with is explaining where the words and/or punchlines come from in sketches. Most of the time I just don’t know. Something, for some reason, pops into my head and then onto the page it goes. Here, at least, I can explain, in full detail, at least part of this one.

Of course, I can’t really explain why I wrote SUPER. I started with and S, and then off I went. My comic book brain likely had something to do with it.

The Ps and Qs quote possesses a clearer explanation and will give real insight on how some of these things get onto the page. Doing this drawing I was listening to Plastic Beach, specifically the White flag, which features the talents of Kano. That guest appearance reminded me of this song, which I immediately queued up.

And there you have it. From a-z.
