Movies #25 Star Wars. Just "Star Wars." You Know What I'm Talking About.

And another thing. Han Shot first! Bitches!

Seriously. I’m 100% over all that stuff. I’m not clinging desperately to the memory of these films as I first experienced them. No way am I doing that.

Anyway, I watched *ahem* “Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope” for the first time in probably ten years and you know what? It’s STILL FUCKING AWESOME.

I’m 5 again!

(minus the swearing.)

Holy crap I still love this movie. Thankfully it turns out the horrifying, soul deforming awfulness of the first two prequels really didn’t destroy my appreciation of this, the seminal pop culture touchstone of my youth.

I feel a little bit reborn. I’ve been walking around with a loathing for the franchise that started with the disappointment of The Phantom Menace and grew into a something really unreasonable with seeing the abominable Attack of the Clones. Those movies are still horrible, but I’m happy to know I can get past them and still enjoy the original trilogy.
