Sideways: Man this NaNoWriMo is killing me in terms of seeing movies and or reading books… It’s good to live without slack every once in a while. It helps you appreciate the times you do have for simple pleasures.
Anyway, this movie was pretty good. IT would have been MUCH better if it weren’t so flabby and indulgent. It’s ostensibly a comedy, but since it was paced erratically and occasionally ponderous in terms of scene length, montage length and the like; it felt considerably LONGER than its two hour running time. that’s NOT a good sign for a comedy.
Still the cast was excellent, their chemistry was wonderful, the spirit of love for wine was well capture and there were some honestly hilarious bits. Flawed, but recommended.
