Three Extremes: Disappointing. I like Asian horror for two reasons- they’re either the most outrageous films in the world (miike) or they’re bone-chillingly frightening (J-horror). This film was neither. Good? Yes. What I’d hoped it would be? No.

Young and Dangerous: The Prequel: For whatever reason, the regular Y&D series works for me and while this film has interesting moments it failed pretty uniformly. Oh well. Yes, I like the Young and Dangerous series. Sue me.
