Best result of the year so far. With the exception of Bradley Wiggins winning a couple of stage races, I’ve been very pleased with the way the cycling season has played out. Tom Boonen, especially, has been fun to watch. Watching him coming back from a couple of tough years has been a joy.
That said, Taylor Phinney winning stage 1 and donning the Maglia Rosa is the best result of the year for me. As an American cycling fan whose favorite race of the year is the Giro d’Italia it was basically a perfect result.
Now if we can just get Ivan Basso into the final Maglia Rosa we’ll have a perfect race.
