Yes, I read BIKE SNOB Systematically & Mercilessly Realigning the World of Cycling . I mean, of course I read it. I’m a bike nerd on at least three different level (I commute by bike, ride a road bike and watch pro cycling year road,) so I’m drawn to this like a Dentist to a Serotta (<- a stolen bike snob joke. GUILTY of stealing.)
It was a while ago now, but that's the nature of these reviews this year. I'm way behind.
On with the review...
So, anyway… Do you ride a bicycle regularly? Yes? Are you overly sensitive about bicycle related topics? No? Then you should probably buy (and read) this book. Theoretically you could also read this book if you simply wanted to turn yourself into a cyclist and wanted a snarky guide to “bike culture” (which if you read the book doesn’t actually exist.)
But really, to turn yourself into a cyclist, all you really need to do is ride a bike.
Is this rambling enough? It’s a weird book to review since it’s tied to the blog. Actually that makes it easier.
Should you buy this book?
Go read the bsnyc blog for 15 minutes. If you laugh or he pisses you off, buy the book.
Personally, I couldn’t read this at night for fear or waking up my wife. It’s an insightful and (super) funny book.
Another late review done and dusted.
