Sacred, while still very good, was my least favorite of the Kenzie/Gennaro novels. I hate to be a complete homer, but I suspect a a good part of that is because it wasn’t solely based in Boston. While I’m actually familiar with the area in Florida it features, that doesn’t present the same allure as the other novels that really revolve around this area.
That said, this was still a good read, (one that I took out in about two days) so I can’t really complain. It’s a crazy story with some fun twists, so it definitely functioned as advertised, I just missed peeking into the grungiest corners of our fair city.
