Blade Runner – The Final Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition) This is the ultimate expression of one of my all-time favorite films. It’s been a while since I’ve seen either version, so I wasn’t really hip to the detailed differences between this and the regular Director’s Cut, but whatever they were- they worked. Mix that with the stunning quality of the print and I was absolutely glued to the screen for 117 minutes. If you’ve never seen the film in a re-edited version, or even if you have, you’ve got to check out the Final Cut.

The biggest difference for me was that the final cut (and the director’s cut) doesn’t include the sometimes cheesy narration. Makes it a little easier to get lost in the story and the stunning visual feast that is this wonderful film. Seems like we’ve been geeking out on this one for years, and we have!

That’s the major difference. I’m really curious about the little differences. I’m going to buy The Final Cut soon enough and I own the Director’s Cut, so I can go through those two back to back to see how they differ. I’d actually like to see the original version again. I saw it a couple of times before we had these alternative endings, but I probably haven’t seen it in 15 years. It’d almost be a new film to me now since I’ve lived with these “new” versions for so long now.
