Stage ten was a much more exciting stage than I expected it to be. Thanks to Astana, of course. It’s crying shame that Vino is injured, because it would have been a joy to see him and that team at full strength last week. Of course, there’s still time to see some aggressive antics in the Pyrenees, it’s just not quite the same as it would have been had he been going for yellow with no oozing wounds.
Nice to see the wild card team get their second win. Of course, Discovery is still searching for their first stage victory, so maybe it’s not so nice (Rob eyes the Pyrenees.) With the crash the green jersey race tightened up significantly.
Of course, on stage 11 Boonen turned tables on his two rivals, took the stage win and padded his lead a little bit. He looks very strong and his team is solid.
I guess Popovych is going for the Polka Dot jersey? He’s only 12 points adrift of Rasmussen, so anything is possible. Especially if Rasmussen is busy trying to fight for the Maillot Jaune.
