For those of you unfamiliar with Pete’s history- he has a separate “Pete Doherty’s controversies” Wikipedia entry. That’s a pretty good hint and the first sentence from that entry should clear up any mystery about whether or not that that’s a good comparison:
Pete Doherty is an English singer and musician who has become well known to the public because of his addiction to heroin and crack cocaine, frequent arrests, court appearances which are heavily reported by tabloid press, along with his on-off relationship with model Kate Moss.
By the way, whatever sort of mess his life is now, I still love The Libertines…
I can trace the fact that I devour new music at a higher rate than I ever did to my discovery of The Libertines.
