Five Easy Pieces: Now I understand why I couldn’t remember anything that happened in this movie… There’s not a lot beyond Nicholson’s performance to walk away with. Don’t get me wrong, walking away with just that is significant and the movie, while you’re in it, is fascinating. It’s just that it’s such a vehicle for the “performance” it feels like very little else…
