Harold and Maude: We noticed, for the first time, that Ruth Gordon’s character had been in a concentration camp. It’s a very subtle thing- you see her tattoo for a split second later on in the film and there’s the sunflower motif that runs throughout.
It really creates a deeper appreciation for who she is.
