Movies 2007 #50 – Holy Mountain

The Holy Mountain Is there a more unique visionary than Alejandro Jodorowsky? And by that I mean- ever? Okay, you got me- that’s hyperbole, but he’s still a mad genius and this film is all the proof a person would ever need of that. It’s a whirlwind of a film. Pick an adjective and there’s probably a scene that it will describe.

  • Beautiful? Sure
  • Repulsive? Without a doubt
  • Exhilerating? Blam
  • Fascinating? He shoots he scores

I can’t recommend it for everyone since it really is disturbing at times, but if you’re happy at the edges of cinema this is a film to watch.
