And Thomas Voeckler had a great day.
He took off on an attack that was pure guts and beat a strong field- including Alejandro Valverde and Danilo Di Luca.

On another cycling note, the Vuelta has been excellent so far. The sprints have been hotly contested and the one mountaintop finish was a stellar day of racing.
