Sad, but not unexpected news. I’d be better with it if he had actually been positively busted for something as opposed to retiring under the weight of a cloud of suspicion, but either way it’s terrible that such a great champion should end up going out like this. To have doping (or the suspicion thereof) push him out is just awful and hopefully this will mark the low point in the cycle of recent doping scandals in the sport.
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding his exit he’s been fun to watch.
