Movies 2006 #44

Les Poupées Russes (Russian Dolls): A sequel to 2002’s L’Auberge Espagnole, a film I really enjoyed, Les Poupées Russe is an enjoyable, creative film. It’s maybe a little overlong, but other than that I’ve really got nothing to complain about. It’s funny, honest and well crafted. There’s also this amazing “global” vibe that I really enjoy- a trait it shares with the first film. London, Paris, Moscow, St. Petersburg are all represented in the location list and there are cast members from several more countries to round out the pan-European vision. All in all a very cool film.

Oh, and Audrey Tautou is in it. That’s a bonus by any measure.
