Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind: One of the great cinematic joys of my life was discovering Hayao Miyazaki. I’m not alone in this, obviously, but there’s a magic in his films that just thrill me. This film is both the prototype for and a perfect expression of, that magic. Great stuff.
Previously seen only in murky bootlegs, this new DVD transfer was a real bonus, to boot…
