The Machine Crusade. This one starts REALLY slowly. It’s “a long hard slog” for the first two hundred or so pages and then really starts to move with a lot more urgency leading up to a pretty heavy finale. Not as good a book as the first of these Serena Butler novels, it’s still a pretty good read for fans of the Dune series. Much back story is illustrated here, including probably the first reason the “dirty” Tleilaxu earned that moniker.
